Indeed, in Alghero coral is everything or, to be more precise, it’s the part that stands for everything (synecdoche). And that’s why a branch of Alghero coral is the prize of the Grand Prix Corallo an annual event which since 2001 awards accolades to protagonists in the world of sport, film and theatre, journalism and TV, with a focus on persons born in Sardinia or with strong links to the island. Sandra Milo, Cinzia Leone, Sara Miquel, Cecilia Gayle, Gazebo, Màgic Andreu, Vanessa Ferrari, Fausto Pellegrini, Anna Piras, and Giuseppe Mastinu: these are this year’s award winners. Another prize went to the film Chi salverà le rose? to which we have dedicated a blog post because of its ties with Alghero.
Where? When? The Port area of Alghero, Saturday 8 July 2017, 9 pm. Hosted by Claudio Lippi and Nicola Nieddu, with Nadia Bengala as hostess of the event. Over the years, the Prix has developed exponentially, becoming a high-profile event with major partners such as RAI, Sky Italia, Tv3 Televisiò de Catalunya, the Italian Film Journalists’ Association, the Municipality of Alghero, the META Foundation, the Science Park of Porto Conte etc.), and with a distinguished judging panel chaired by Ettore Nuara, former chief editor of “Tv Sorrisi e Canzoni” and “Ciak”.
So, next Saturday, in Alghero, you’ll see a wide array of evening dresses and coral branches. Can you imagine a more delicious blend of glamour than that?
